Byron Bay based eco startup, Zero Co, is on a mission to eliminate single-use plastic packaging from every Aussie kitchen, laundry and bathroom. The company offers home-delivery of a range of planet-friendly personal-care and home-cleaning products direct to customers.
Born from founder Mike Smith’s frustration at finding plastic waste in some of the most remote parts of the world, Zero Co looks to tackle the global single-use plastic problem by offering Australian made, eco-friendly household products in reusable ‘Forever Bottles’ made from Ocean, Beach and Landfill plastic (OBL) which are refilled with pouches that customers send back to the company for cleaning and reusing. Their closed loop, zero-waste business model is like no other on the market and their breadth of products gives Aussies a simple solution to buying all their household products in the one place whilst minimising their plastic consumption.
Since launching in November 2020 after a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, Zero Co has signed up more than 58,000 Aussie households but the fledgling company still has some audacious goals as they strive to build a global brand operating in multiple markets across with a broad product portfolio.
As an ambitious, young company, the work is fast-paced but rewarding, so bringing on the right people and creating the right culture is critical.
Logitech technology facilitates the hiring process and ensures that everyone has the communication tools that they need to help make the world a cleaner place.
Zero Co founder and CEO, Mike Smith, said: “To be honest I did not expect the rapid growth rate that we’ve had. Having had to hire 20 people pretty quickly, having the right audio and visual tech with our Logitech gear has streamlined that process and helped make it a lot easier.“
