Consumer electronics group Sharp has announced a new 80-inch LCD television that features built-in Wi-FI, LED backlighting and access to streaming film services.

The company announced the device this week, with recommended retail prices being set at around $5,000.

The company brags the device features a contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1, along with new motion technology that โ€œvirtually eliminates blurโ€.

Consumers want bigger flat panel TVs for deeper, more immersive viewing experiences and that’s exactly what Sharp’s delivering here,โ€ Sharp Electronics president John Herrington said in a statement.

The device, which also features USB input, is set to ship in early October.
