Twitter is celebrating its five-year anniversary by releasing statistics about the company’s growth, revealing it is now signing up an average of 460,000 accounts every day.

The site also revealed its mobile users have increased by 182% over the past year, with an average of 140 million tweets sent every day.

And while Twitter said it took them just over three years to record the billionth tweet, it now records that on average every week.

Twitter also revealed the current “tweets per second” record is set at 6,939, which was recorded four seconds after midnight on New Year’s Day in Japan.

The company also has over 400 employees, it revealed, compared to the eight it had during January 2008.
