Google vice president of location and local services, Marissa Mayer, has taken to the stage at the SXSW conference to reveal some new figures about the company’s growth.

The statistics included that 40% of all Google Maps usage is now being recorded from mobile devices. On Christmas and New Year’s Day, mobile usage was more than desktop usage.

Google Maps now has over 150 million users on mobile, while Google Maps Navigation on Android has provided directions for more than 12 billion miles in the past year.

Mayer also revealed that Google Maps is set for some improvements, such as including flight information.
