A new report from the Wall Street Journal claims the second version of Apple’s iPad is now in production, indicating a release date within the next few months.
The new report follows up with others that indicated manufacturers have begun production schedules and that Apple will announce the new gadget in the next few weeks.
According to the new report, the second version of the iPad will be lighter, thinner and come with a faster graphics processing unit. It’s also reported the gadget will feature a front-facing camera but that a high-resolution display will be left off for now.
The report also claims the new iPad will be able to access the AT&T and Verizon networks.
While the iPad was a relatively new entry in the tablet market last year, this year it will be gearing up to compete against the Motorola Xoom and the RIM Playbook.
