As part of Apple’s release of the iPhone 4, it has also launched a new app – a stripped down version of its iMovie software.
The iMovie app, which costs $US5, allows users to create films with clips taken on their iPhone, along with pictures brought in from the photos app.
Users can build different edits using transitions, titles and music, while the app also includes a “Ken Burns” effect that makes photos automatically change in size on the screen.
There are several pre-made themes users can bring into their clips which change transitions and text types, while different fonts and music loops are also available. However, users can also bring in music from their iPhone to use.
Users can also export their video in HD, and can share it using email, MMS, YouTube or the MobileMe service.
While the app has already hit the App Store, Australian users need to wait just a while longer – the app requires an iPhone 4, which isn’t set to hit local shelves until late next month.
