User-edited encyclopaedia Wikipedia is set to receive an update in order to provide the site with a “more updated look and feel”.

According to the WikiNews site, which is run by the Wikipedia operator, the Wikimedia Foundation, the site is “one of the top 10 websites on the internet” and will receive its facelift during April.

It will receive a new, updated skin, a totally new toolbar in order to “significantly ease common editing tasks… [which will] encourage new people to edit and update content”. Over 500,000 users are taking part in a beta program for the updates.

Additionally, along with the new graphical updates, the back-end code “will be improved, editors will be able to change tables data and other elements with an easy form, in addition to editing an article while watching it”.
