A report in the Wall Street Journal claims that Apple chief executive Steve Jobs is now spending the majority of his time on the company’s rumoured tablet device.

The tablet rumour has been spreading across the internet for most of the year, ever since Piper Jeffrey analyst Gene Munster predicted such a device in a report. Other rumours from the Financial Times and AppleInsider have confirmed the device, which could see an official announcement in as soon as two weeks.

The WSJ report claims that Jobs is now spending much of his time tweaking the gadget in a similar fashion to the iPhone before it was released. Additionally, the report claims that former models of the device have been dismissed by Jobs due to low battery life and insufficient memory capacity.

However, Steve Jobs has personally replied to the WSJ claiming that “much of your information is incorrect”, fuelling speculation over how much time Jobs is spending on the project and which rumours are correct.
