Twitter. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Aside from all the many social reasons for using it, it’s also an incredible tool for your business.
You can have as many Twitter accounts as you like, after all it’s free and easy to set up.
But just how many should you have? Well, that’s a different question.
If you’re wondering whether or not to have more than one account, you need to consider the kind of content you will be delivering.
With each Twitter account you create, whether it’s for business or pleasure, you will attract followers who will expect you to post certain kinds of messages.
Your personal account followers may like to read about the latest movie you just watched or your opinion on the carbon tax, but your business account followers won’t.
Your company should focus on a single account to begin with. Once this gains some traction, you can then begin to roll out new accounts if you wish.
Create as many Twitter accounts as you like, but only as many as you can manage effectively.
Having multiple accounts will only work as long as each account serves a purpose.
For example, you may have a corporate account, an account for a specific product, and an account for customer service.
But keep in mind that somebody is going to have to manage all these accounts.
Another thing to be aware of is that Twitter usernames are quickly becoming as valuable as domain names.
Twitter is growing and by now everybody should have their own name on it.
If you don’t have your name or your company name registered on Twitter yet, it would be wise to do it now.
