Twitter has hit out at changes to Google’s search results, branding them a “bad day for the internet.”
A new Google feature, called Search Plus Your World, will automatically push results from Google+ up the rankings.
Twitter’s general counsel Alex Macgillivray said the moved risk search terms being “warped” in order to promote Google’s foray into social media.
Australians flock online over Christmas: Report
Australia had its busiest ever online shopping period during the Christmas holiday season, with most consumers turning to domestic retailers, according to a new report.
The PayPal report said that 70% of online purchases were made with Australian retailers, with double digit growth in internet sales compared to Christmas 2010.
Dell plots new tablet offering
The computer tablet market is set to heat up further later this year, with Dell announcing plans to launch its first consumer-focused device.
Dell has already rolled out Streak, a tablet aimed at business users, but said that it will expand its presence in the market with a consumer offering in 2012.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell by 31.45 points, or 0.25%, to 12,431.02. The Australian dollar rose to 103.04 US cents.
